A number of disallusioned tourism service providers have formed their own regional tourist board for the borders region. This is a part replacement for the disbanded Scottish Borders Tourist Board. The newly formed Borders Tourist Board covers both South East Scotland and Northern Northumberland. |

There is much disquiet about the commercial activities
of Visit Scotland and their public private partner - Etourism Ltd. Broadly
speaking the organisation appears to have greater interest in promoting
itself rather than tourism in Scotland. If you have views for or against
the activities of VisitScotland there is an e-petition at www.reclaimvs.com.
Reclaim VS have just won an important judgement with the information commissioner to enforce release of the contract between visitscotland and visitscotland.com (etourism Ltd).
